How’s Stoptober for you?

There’s still time to sign up and give up this October

How’s Stoptober for you?

We all know by now that smoking is not good for you or those around you but for many people giving up is still difficult.

There are many resources available now to help people give up this addictive habit, including patches, chewing gum or even hypnosis and with incentives for stopping smoking running at various times throughout the year there is always a good time to stop smoking.

Not only does smoking have a detrimental effect on your health, it also has a negative impact on your smile.

Firstly, smoking will stain your teeth quickly and some smokers even suffer with teeth which are nearly brown from the nicotine and tar that smoking produces.

Smoking can also lead to gum disease….and gum disease can lead to tooth loss. Smoking causes the healing process to slow down so gum disease can take a real hold quickly.

Smoking is also the major cause of mouth cancer.  Many people are aware of lung and throat cancer but with mouth cancer causing the death of thousands of people every year it is not to be ignored.

People who smoke are also more likely to suffer with ongoing bad breath issues.

As you can see, there are more and more reasons to give up smoking and become a healthier non smoking individual.  Be kind to yourself and those that love you and take steps to stop smoking today.
